Praise and Worship Music not Communion
Communion or the Lord’s Supper is covered in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 with very, very crucial attention needing paid to verses 27-34 in that one is to examine them self before participating so as not to bring judgment on their still-sinning self from heaven.
Being ignorant [and perhaps habitual sinners], parents allowed their adolescents and teens to participate around us, two Holy Spirit saved persons, able to participate without bringing judgment because our (habitual) sinning ceased during the sanctification process!
Although Zach Williams had good intentions [paved with unintended consequences – I hope], Communion should not be performed by the lay person. The Church is full of this half-practice and it must stop.
Meaning, I or we, experienced same disservice at our former church via a pastor who is not seminary educated thus properly trained shepherd; so, which is worse?
Scripture, the inspired word of our LORD or Father in heaven, also states via the Apostle Paul that a church is to remain pure, not to contain people lying in their sins (1 Corinthians 5). The Lord does not approve – trust me!
Yes, we are to come as we are but to repent of our sinful ways which allows the Holy Spirit, if baptized mind-you.
Zach Williams is AMAZING.
The music was so great - he delivered on every song. His band is so great - guitar players, keyboard, brass players - really great. And his background vocals are awesome (front line material). The sound was great and location of my seats were great - third row back, two seats on end of the row. His opener - Blessing - is so good. Great message from Zach - he's unpretentious, tells his story plainly, and really appreciated his sincerity. Highly recommend seeing him.
Venue - Paramount has got to get updated. Seats all need to be replaced - they are old, unpadded, and when one person moves the whole row moves - terrible. Aisle carpeting is literally being held together with tape.
I know partnership with organizations is important to Christian artists but the World Vision portion could have been a lot shorter. Most audiences attending at a Christian artist event have heard of these programs/organizations so don't need as much information etc. And if you bring an unbeliever to one of these concerts, that's too long a time for them to sit through. Short and sweet is needed.
